Casillas targets second star

Iker Casillas has said Spain have come to the World Cup with the intention of adding a second star to the shirt of the national team.
The captain was put before the Press to preview La Roja’s opening game, against 2010 runners-up the Netherlands, and said the team are ready to get the competition underway.
“[We come with] desire and enthusiasm for a good tournament,” AS reports the goalkeeper as saying.
“Hopefully we can relieve the triumph of South Africa. We know it won’t be easy because since then we’ve been favourites and all our rivals want to do their best against Spain.
“We want to win and we’re motivated, because our goal, while always respecting the opposition, is to earn a second star for our country.
“Spain have been the best in the world for four years and everyone is trying to do everything possible to win.
“With hope and humility we can become champions, with strength and clear ideas from the beginning, to get as far as possible and defend that title.”
Casillas added that the final four years ago will have no bearing on the meeting between Spain and the Netherlands tonight.
“The final and this match are very different and they have nothing in common,” he continued.
“But they are also very important. We won in South Africa. When you start the World Cup with a poor result, you have to go to the maximum to win the next matches.
“Holland have three experienced players in attack and they will be a tough opponent.”
