The Sporting World saw, cheered, got Amazed at the jaw breaking moments at the just concluded World Cup in the home of football Brazil, from the field attractions to the Off-field events, lots of crazy moments you will agree even before the competition was staged there has been lots of controversies, the people of brazil held protests against the idea of hosting the most prestigious footballing event but it later became a success as the event turned out to be a good business for the host.

32 nations might have competed at the World Cup but it caught attention of the whole world as each continent were represented so if your country is missing out atlease your continent did not.

Congratulations to the eventual winner of the World Cup, Mario Goetze, 22, scored a beautiful 113th minute match-winner- the 171st goal of the 20th edition of the world soccer showpiece- to write his name in the history books, the Germans waited 24years to taste what it's like to rule the footballing world again for the next four years, see you in Russia 2018 but don't forget your neighbour, Spain was the defending champion but failed to make it beyond the group stage after being humiliated by the Netherlands same thing happened to Italy in previous edition France as well din't make it out of the group stage when they came to defend their title so I hope you learn from them.

Now back to the motherland - Africa, two of our five representatives made it beyond the group stage but failed to surpass our previous best efforts which is the last eight (quarter finals) it was a great thing of joy that Algeria and Nigeria made it pass the group stage but the world cup was a disappointing outing for Africa as Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon camp were fuelled with crisis, when will African sport administrators start learning how to manage our players well , Cameroon players are being investigated for match-fixing, The super Eagles refused to train before their match against France which they eventually lost due to psychological reasons as far as am concerned, you can't have series of distractions and expect your team to play well.

Stephen Keshi is unsure of his future with the Super Eagles, now that's my major concern, we should learn from the Germans continuity, Keshi has transformed the team within a short period of time, after Clement westerhoff left the Eagles, we hired numerous coaches to handle the team, the foreign coaches came and extort us thanks to the administrators who gave mouth watering wages to them, what was the result we lost that Super in our Eagles now the BigBoss wants to quit, are we ready to start all over again.

The Nigerian Football Federation should get this right they failed to manage the Eagles well at the World Cup and all they could get Nigerians who love football whole heartedly is a ban after the mundial just because of their own misappropriation. Give Keshi all he wants and give him time more, he said it before the 2013 African cup of Nations that the team is in a rebuilding process, Let him build!

Oh Brazil you gave the world a wonderful show right from the first match no one would forget that the first goal of the tournament was an own goal-Marcelo was trying to clear tricky cross from Olic as if that was not even enough the Germans dealt with Selecao ruthlessly at the semi-finals telling them being the host or being regarded as the home of football doesn't change anything, it is simply the 90mins that dictates the tone. The Netherlands completed the humiliation in the 3rd place match whipping Brazil 3 goals to nothing well other teams also had their own story.

You can ask Suarez for a bite Chellini can tell you about it as if what he did to Ghana at the previous World Cup wasn't enough by preventing the ball from a clear goal with his hands denying Africa their first Semi-final ticket (SouthAfrica 2010), the Former Liverpool striker was caught in video clips by FIFA bitting Italy defender Chellini in the last match of the group stage(Italy Vs Uruguay) now he is facing a four months ban. England can tell you that having a very good league doesn't guarantee your national team a good outing at the World Cup.

Delima Ronaldo Scored his 15th goal against Ghana making him the all time goal scorer at the World Cup before this year's World Cup, Miroslav Klose also got his 15th goal against Ghana but later got his 16th against brazil making him the all time goal scorer at the World Cup and Columbia young star James Rodriguez became the biggest revelation at the World Cup now Real Madrid will have to pay 80million Euro for him and Costa Rica showed the world what a supposed under dog can do in a group of death before eventually been knocked out by the Dutch in the Quarter finals from spot kicks . A World Cup that gave goal keepers a lot of attention as many of them impressed Guillermo Ochoa was fantastic for Mexico, Vincent Enyeama did well too, Tim Howard saved cleared goal chances the Belgians had to wait till 120min extra before breakthrough.

Brazil happens to be the only South American team to have won the World Cup In Europe Sweden precisely while the Germans showed consistency to be the first and only European team to win the World Cup on a South American soil opening doors for the rest that they can do it despite the weather and also that football is a team effort, Argentina had the best player but the Germans had a great team.

Now all players have returned to their home country and some have a new job, thanks to the World Cup which has been a good market for footballers themselves keylor Navas had a good tournament as a shot stopper, he will be living Levante heading to Real Madrid, James Rodriguez who is the world Cup revelation is also on his way to Madrid as well, and it wasn't just about the players themselves, coaches too are on the move some humbly resigned while some were axed but till 2018 in Russia Tchau Brazil...
