Barcelona forward Neymar will miss the rest of the World Cup after fracturing a vertebrae in his back, it has been reported.
The Brazil international was stretchered off in the final minutes of his side’squarter-final win over Colombia and taken to a hospital in Fortaleza.
Marca has reported that a team doctor has confirmed Neymar has suffered the back injury and he won’t recover in time to participate in any further Brazil games at the tournament. The hosts play Germany in the semi-final.
The 22-year-old suffered the injury from a challenge by Colombia’s Napoli full-back Camilo Zuniga.
