Paul Pogba has described his 79th minute goal for France against Nigeria as one of the best moments of his life.
The scores were still level at 0-0 in the World Cup Last 16 tie when the Juventusman took advantage of Super Eagles keeper Vincent Enyeama flapping at a corner, heading the ball into an empty net.
A late Joseph Yobo own goal made it 2-0 and, speaking to FIFA’s official website after the end of the game, the young midfielder was lost for words to describe his emotion.
“There are no words, I have no words to describe what we are showing,” Pogba said.
“We have a whole nation behind us, I am happy for the team.
“It’s definitely the biggest emotion of my career. We are in the quarter-finals and it is one of the best moments of my life.”
