Captain Yaya Toure broke the dead lock but DR. Congo responded with a well converted spot kick, goals from Gervinho and Konan were enough to help steer Ivory Coast into the African Nations Cup final in a 3-1 win over Democratic Republic of Congo in the Estadio de Bata yesterday.
Ivory Coast will play in Sunday's final in Bata against Equatorial Guinea or Ghana who meet in the second semi-final in Malabo this evening.
The elephants won the African cup on Nations last in 1992 but they came close in 2012 when they lost to the chipolopolo of Zambia.
