Pep Guardiola is slowly losing the Bayern Munich dressing room, according to club legend Lothar Matthaus.
The Bavarians were comprehensively beaten 3-0 in the first leg of their
Champions League semi-final with Barcelona last week and lost their
fourth game on the bounce against Augsburg on Sunday, leaving the former
Germany star to ponder whether the 44-year-old is facing a power
struggle at the Allianz Arena.
“Guardiola’s already said that their season is over and has been
rotating his squad so much that he’s unsettling the team,” he told Sky
Deutschland.
“Bayern no longer have the stability, which gripped fans all over Germany, they once had for more than eight months.
“It seems that some players have lost faith in Guardiola, which he didn’t expect [would happen].”
Guardiola, who famously led Barca to 15 trophies between 2008 and 2012,
despite his disappointing return to Camp Nou, has also been heavily
linked with the potential vacancy at Manchester City in the last few
days.
