Aubameyang Dethrones Yaya As CAF Player of the Year

 

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang  won the 2015 Glo CAF Player of the Year award that - took place at the International Conference Center in Abuja, preventing Yaya Toure from scooping the gong for a record of  fifth time.

Four time winner Yaya Toure couldn't hold back the tears after he was dethroned by the 26 year old Gabonese wonder boy. The Borrusia Dortmund forward has scored 27 goals in 27 matches in all competitions this season

Aubameyang came second in the voting behind Man. City`s Yaya Toure in the previous edition of the awards as the Ivorian won a fourth consecutive award but the table turned around at Thursday's CAF gala in the Nigeria capital of Abuja thanks to a sparkling run of form of the Gabonese talisman Dortmund who has been in great shape and bagging goals consecutively

The Dortmund striker edged Yaya Toure by 143 points to 136 in the final vote while Swansea City and Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew came third with 112 points
