Paraguay's Alejandro Dominguez Elected as New CONMEBOL President

AlejandroDominguezParaguayan Alejandro Dominguez has been unanimously elected as president of CONMEBOL, the governing body of South American football. Dominguez was the only candidate and received all 10 votes from the 10 CONMEBOL member federations
Dominguez steps into the position after the last three presidents were arrested in the sweeping corruption scandal surrounding FIFA.
 "My biggest promise is to restore credibility to CONMEBOL," the 44-year-old told the confederation members. "We want to emphasize transparency. We want to return to the essence of football, the values and the fair play."
