FIFA Announces $9.5m Cash For Super Eagles For Qualifying For Russia 2018

The Super Eagles of Nigeria alongside other teams who will be at the World Cup are going to earn a fix participation bonus of $9.5m according to a release on the official website of the soccer body.
Teams are also going to earn more based on their progress at the tournament with the winners set to earn a new revised and agreed cash price of $38m‎, a 40% increase from the cash price given to Germany for winning the 2014 edition of the World Cup.
“As approved by the FIFA Council at its meeting in Kolkata on 27 October 2017, the total contributions for the participants of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ will amount to USD 791 million, up 40 per cent compared to the previous edition in 2014″, a statement on FIFA website reads.
“In addition, each qualified team will receive USD 1.5 million to cover preparation costs, which will be paid ahead of the competition. This means all teams are guaranteed at least USD 9.5 million each for their participation in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The statement also confirmed that participating teams are going to get $1.5m to help out in their preparations for the World Cup alongside, aside other financial benefits for taking part at the tournament.
