Joseph Parker Vows To Detonate Anthony Joshua's Chin

Joseph Parker has vowed to detonate Anthony Joshua’s chin and snatch his world heavyweight titles to unify the division at Cardiff this month. The New Zealander, who holds the WBO belt, made the bold claim during the pair's head-to-head on the customary Gloves Are Off to build up to the showdown on March 31.
"He says I have a glass chin, I want to see if he has the power. I don't think he has enough power in his hand to detonate on my chin and knock me out," Joshua said on the The Gloves Are Off.
"Trust me, I have got the power," the Kiwi replied.
Joshua then puts him on the spot: "Are you going to knock me out?"
The intense meeting between the pair then has a moment of silence, before Parker firmly responds: "Yeah, of course I am."
Parker goes further, insisting AJ will be exposed and detailing the former Olympic champion's weaknesses.
"I'm going to expose him. He doesn't move as well as I do," Parker adds. "The way to beat him would be speed and movement. I don't think he can catch me."
AJ was reluctant to hit back and could not specify any of his opponent's weaknesses.
"I haven't fought him, I couldn't say. But I'm going to punish him with every jab, every right hand and every hook."
Joshua labelled Parker "my second toughest fight because I put (Wladimir) Klitschko at No 1"

Nigerian Boxers Battle Each Other In London

Two Nigerian boxers Larry Ekundayo and Daniel Aziz will battle each other in London in what promises to be a mouthwatering bout.

The battle, ‘High Stakes’, will take place in Brentwood, Essex, will mark the 35-year-old’s Ekundayo return to the ring, since his first pro loss against Gary Corcoran on a split decision last July. He recently told Boxing News: “I’ve never had a doubt that I’m at world level – I’m a world-class fighter.”

Ekundayo is a graduate of the University of Lagos who started boxing for self-defense at the age of 12. He won a London Elite title with Haringey Police and boxed for Nigeria at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
'The Natural' won his first 12 fights as a professional, which included victory in a Prizefighter tournament. At 17, he qualified to take part in the 1999 All African Games in South Africa. As the 1998 Nigerian Amateur Bantamweight champion, he wanted to continue in that category but he didn’t meet up with the requirements at the All African Games. So, he moved to the welterweight category.

Tyson Fury The Usain Bolt

The 6ft 9ins heavyweight has not fought since beating Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015
Tyson Fury compares himself to Usain Bolt as he shows off fast hands and slick movement during training though it's been more than two years since Fury danced and feinted his way to world championship glory against Wladimir Klitschko.

But, in videos uploaded to his Instagram page on Monday, the self-styled Gypsy King gave fans a taste of what they've been missing when he showed off his nimble footwork and slick skills on the pads.

'AM I REALLY THAT FAST!!!' Fury wrote alongside one video, while amusingly comparing himself to Usain Bolt and a Lamborghini.

Despite his inactivity, the 29-year-old has been calling out current champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder in recent months.

But his friend Ricky Hatton fears the heavyweight may struggle to rediscover the peak form which carried him to victory over Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November 2015.

Former national boxing champion Jerry Okorodudu on Thursday called for support for Nigerian boxers for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the boxers are camped at  the National Stadium in Lagos ahead of  the Games which hold from April 4 to 15.
Okorodudu, who represented Nigeria at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games in the middleweight category, added that the current crop of boxers in camp have the capacity to represent the nation creditably.
He said, “The athletes are already in camp as we all know, but it goes beyond that for them to excel in Gold Coast, because we have to consider some factors.
“Is the atmosphere conducive to the boxers, are they well motivated to bring the best out of them, is there any psychologist on the ground to evaluate their mental wellbeing and other factors?
“If all these factors are in place, our boxers are bound to perform well at the Games.”
He advised the boxers to be focused and shun things that could undermine their performances in Australia.

Tyson Fury Offers Anthony Joshua A 'Winner Takes All' Fight

Tyson Fury has offered heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua with a 'winner takes all' fight
Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has called out Anthony Joshua once again, this time offering him a 'winner takes all fight' and claiming that his heavyweight rival will take a 'beating'.
Fury has not fought since dethroning Wladimir Klitschko back in November 2015 in Dusseldorf. He has been getting into shape in recent months by hitting the gym and is clearly eager for his first fight back to be against the WBA and IBF king, Joshua
The 'Gypsy King' took to Twitter to write: '@anthonyfjoshua... to prove this fight is not about a few measly pounds for me, I'll do a winner takes all! Loser gets nothing but a beating and that loser will be you!'
However, characteristically Fury wasn't done there as he also claimed Joshua made hard work of his victories over Klitschko and Carlos Takam, before calling himself the 'don of the heavyweights'.
The 29-year-old said: 'Don't be fooled by this fraud @anthonyfjoshua trying to con the boxing fans, he struggled with a 41yo man in Wladimir after I schooled him!
'Then made hard work of Takam who took fight on 11 days’ notice, I'm the real don of the heavyweights, if only he had the heart to fight me?

Deontay Wilder had to be pulled away by the referee after knocking out Stiverne

Deontay Wilder told Anthony Joshua "I declare war upon you" after retaining his WBC heavyweight title with a first round knockout of Bermane Stiverne.
Wilder knocked Stiverne to the canvas with a fierce right before flooring him again with a barrage of punches.
Stiverne was then knocked out as Wilder caught him with some brutal punches, including a left-right combination.
"I know I am the best. Are you up for the test?," asked Wilder of WBA and IBF heavyweight champion Joshua.
"I've been waiting on that fight for a long time now.

Anthony Joshua Stops Carlos Takam In Round 10

Anthony Joshua
Nigeria British boxer Anthony Joshua defended his WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles in an impromptu bout with Carlos Takam who surprised many in a controversial 10th-round stoppage at a raucous Principality Stadium.
Joshua, 28, damaged his nose in a heavy head collision early on and did not have things all his own way against a fighter who took the bout at 12 days' notice.
But in a key fourth round in which both men enjoyed success, Joshua dropped his man with a hook and badly damaged the eye of his rival.
Takam was twice inspected by ringside medics but battled on until he was overwhelmed in the 10th, when referee Phil Edwards stepped in to end the contest, much to the challenger's frustration.
Takam, 36, was under pressure but not out on his feet and some inside the Cardiff venue booed the stoppage.

Unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather has repeated his challenge to Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor.
Mayweather - who retired in 2015 after equalling Rocky Marciano's record of 49 unbeaten career fights - took to social networking site Twitter to challenge McGregor.
The American posted, "Listen Conor McGregor, if you really want to get this fight done... take care of your business with the UFC and have your people get in touch with my people''. McGregor's Ultimate Fighting Championship contract means the league would have to agree to any crossover bout with Mayweather.
UFC President Dana White has stated he would pay both Mayweather and McGregor $25m to make the bout happen, but has told the Los Angeles Times that the fight is not close to being confirmed.

Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko Gets A Nod

Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua's heavyweight title fight against Wladimir Klitschko will take place next spring, provided Joshua beats Eric Molina in December.
The British IBF world champion has had his headline-making clash with the Ukrainian sanctioned by the WBA after two scheduled meetings between Klitschko and former champion Tyson Fury were called off.
However, the bout taking place relies on Joshua seeing off Molina - the 28-year-old Texan who has a record of 25 victories from 28 fights.
That encounter is due to take place at the Manchester Arena two weeks before Christmas.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed a deal is in place between his client and Klitschko and said he will work with the Ukrainian's manager Bernd Boente on finalising a date and venue.
'It was beautiful to finally see the WBA's decision last night finally allowing the Joshua v Klitschko fight for the spring,' Hearn told Sky Sports.
