Cristiano Ronaldo is fit and will play for Portugal as they take on Germany in their opening Group G game at the World Cup.
The Real Madrid forward has been struggling with knee and muscle knocks in recent months, and hasn’t been fully fit since the Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund in March.
However, Paulo Sousa has deemed the Ballon d’Or winner fit enough to start, and will do so in Salvador this afternoon.
The Seleccao name Inter and Juve target Nani out wide, whilst Joao Moutinhomarshals things from midfield.
Joachim Low meanwhile, has failed to give Lazio’s Miroslav Klose a start, with the Mannschaft opting for a false No.9 – likely to be Mario Gotze.
Sami Khedira has also passed a fitness test, and starts in midfield alongsideBayern Munich’s Philipp Lahm.
