The Bavarians beat Luis Enrique’s men 3-2 on the night but crashed out
of the competition 5-3 on aggregate after a losing at the Camp Nou last
week.
“Of course it’s disappointing when you consider what happened in Munich,” goalkeeper Neuer told reporters.
“We didn’t lose faith after the first leg – we put in an improved performance on Tuesday and beat Barca at home.
“Nobody can complain at us anymore. Perhaps we should be annoyed about
the goals we conceded as we let in five over the two games.
“The final 15 minutes in Barcelona was the crucial point in the tie. That’s why we didn’t reach the final.
“Even so, I think we’ve had a good season and reacted well after a busy
summer. Finishing top of the table by such a big margin despite several
setbacks shows we’ve been performing well.”
Neuer also spoke about the two goals conceded at the Allianz Arena, both of them tucked home by Neymar.
“First and foremost you must remember they are excellent players who can beat a couple of men on their way to goal.
“It’s always tricky to defend against, particularly on days when they are in good form. Big players make a difference.
