Organisers in Talks to Drop "Toxic" IAAF Branding for 2017 Championships

IAAF_Logo The organisers of the first 2017 World Athletics Championships in London want to remove the IAAF’s “toxic” logo from all their branding and advertising to distance the event from the scandal-ravaged world governing body, according to a report by UK newspaper The Times as talks are still in progress over re-branding the IAAF.
The move can not take effect without the consent of the IAAF and its president Seb Coe, as the branding was agreed between both parties when London won the bid in 2011.
According to reports the IAAF are regarded by the public as a "toxic" brand and those tasked with promoting and advertising the championships feel they can do that easier without the branding of the IAAF.
